Senior Electrical Engineer

Overview:

As part of the Engineering team this role supports Electrical Design, Testing, Optics, and regulatory Compliance Oversite by training and collaborating with the Imaging Processing teams and scanner technicians. Through assisting technicians and troubleshooting their sensors, approving parts and materials deviations, an Electrical Engineer will be supporting production in the warehouse. Qualified candidates must be extremely detail-focused, an extraordinary problem-solver and be able to adapt to priorities changing daily. 

Responsibilities (not limited to):

General and Task Management  

  • Be and active participant with consistent collaboration with Engineering Managers, Image Processing teams and Grade Scanners 
  • Understanding and implementing designs from technical drawings 
  • Attend production meetings 
  • Execute physical testing of hardware by creating test procedures, running tests, and providing necessary follow-up testing across all systems 
  • Inspecting electrical components during and after the product installation 
  • Identify improvements that can be made to technology, processes, and products to increase efficiencies across the department 
  • Responsible for Electronic design and compensate for part obsolescence or non-availability  
  • Design, develop, test, and supervise the manufacturing of electrical equipment on MiCROTEC Technologies 
  • Evaluate systems’ safety, reliability, and performance through regulatory compliance framework for CDRH, UL, and NEC 
  • Monitor maintenance and inspection plans 
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to design and apply new system processes 
  • Work with Altium designer, ORCAN, AutoCad, Vivado daily to execute engineering functions 
  • Consult with fabrication to ensure National Electrical Code (NEC) is being upheld 
  • Train new technicians on safety regulations 
  • Approve parts and materials deviations 
  • Assist technicians in trouble shooting and product improvements  
  • Coordinate lens, laser and filter selection and testing routines 
  • Develop electrical devices and test for safety and efficiency

Requirements:

  • Experience working with Power Systems, Drive Systems, and Power Distribution 
  • Excellent critical thinking skills 
  • Hands-on experience with test bench equipment, ex. O-scope, etc. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering 
  • Understanding of electrical engineering codes and safety standards 
  • Hands-on experience using design and calculation software 
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally 
  • Solution-based thinker
