Overview
As a Technical Sales Representative with a territory in Western Canada, you will be responsible for understanding our customer’s needs to drive sales of our lumber scanning and software solutions. In addition, you will provide our in-house sales team technical support at key stages of the sales process.
Responsibilities (not limited to)
- Serve as the key point of contact for new business opportunities driving solutions, attending opportunity discussions, and delivering presentations
- Expand existing client base through networking and lead development
- Foster purposeful relationships with all existing and future customers
- Identify opportunities and placement of our products with new and existing customers
- Development of key information for the preparation and presentation of proposals
- Working with customers to understand their requirements and provide sales support
- Assist in the development of project analysis, contract reviews, and kick-off meeting
materials - Setting and achieving sales forecasts and quotas
- Negotiate orders and other commercial terms
- Update CRM to reflect sales activities
- Attend trade shows
- Travel up to 50%
Requirements
- Experience in the wood products industry
- Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn our products
- Strong interpersonal, communication and listening skills
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
- Self-directed, ability to work independently, high sense of personal accountability, and
deadline/results oriented - Ability to regularly travel to global company locations in the US, Canada and Europe
- Driver’s License
- Preferred: Previous sales experience
