Overview
We are seeking a sales proposal engineer. This role will be responsible for developing and reviewing project proposals based on customer needs. You will work with the pre-sales team to ensure a cost-effective, legal and technically viable solution for each customer while serving as a facilitator for the life cycle of the project proposal process.
Responsibilities (not limited to)
- Define and structure technical specifications of products to determine the mechanical and electrical integrations required for the customer
- Perform detailed project specification analysis and equipment specification review
- Become an expert on lumber processing and how it relates to the MiCROTEC product line in order to handle product application inquires and make product recommendations
- Work with the sales team to prepare proposals and quotes for equipment and services to customers
- Work with customers and sales team to close proposals and follow up with sales team on past quotes
- Engage in customer inquiries and issues to problem solve through the proposal process
- Document technical specifications for the sales department
- Provide technical information to sales team on all MiCROTEC products and equipment
- Work closely with the sales team to grow sales and market share
- Communicate with all internal departments to gather and validate information when needed
- Occasional travel to support sales team at customer mills
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or similar
- Solutions driven, with excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, excellent follow-up ability and be a consistent team player
- Must be quick, creative, curious with a can-do attitude and eager to learn new things
- Ability to travel worldwide or across MiCROTEC locations, if necessary
- Driver’s License
