IT Help Desk Technician – Tier 1

Overview:

We are seeking an IT Help Desk Technician to join our growing IT team. This person will provide a sound and secure information technology environment that supports our business and technical requirements. The IT Help Desk Technician will be responsible for managing tier 1 service tickets and assisting with endpoint devices, network, servers, and VOIP phone system. This position will also assist with imaging, installing, and configuring customer systems including servers and networking equipment. A successful candidate will have an understanding of Microsoft Windows environments, Server/PC hardware, Active Directory, remote access, networking, and information security.

Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Maintaining the various computer systems owned or operated by the company
  • Providing end-user support, resolving technical issues, and providing technical assistance for Windows/Linux operating systems and applications
  • Providing new employees with required hardware and appropriate access to the company’s computer systems
  • Researching, designing, implementing, configuring, monitoring, troubleshooting, and evaluating existing and new operating systems and applications.
  • Ensure that architecture principles and technology standards are consistently applied and updated as appropriate.
  • Conferring with other system administrators as needed
  • Testing, validating, and installing operating system and application security/performance patches
  • Ensuring end users have proper computer resources including enough memory and the set up needed to be able to work efficiently
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Network and Server environment
  • Office 365 management and administration
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively

Requirements:

  • 2-year degree in a Business or Computer Science field or Equivalent work experience
  • 1 year experience Active Directory
  • 1 year experience Office 365
  • Logical thinker, ability to logically problem solve, proactive in resolving problems and troubleshooting
  • Excellent analytical abilities, project, and time management skills, with ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
